Have you closely followed the Pacman’s diction when he sings? It isn’t near what you can consider as commercial grade. The Pacman should just keep his singing to his karaoke crowd or to his post-fight concerts when the audience are too starstruck to mind his thick Visayan diction. This is the once-in-a-blue moon episode where this writer tips his hat off to Congressman Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo of the Ang Galing Party List.

“Ang galing-galing n’yo, sir!”

Why the accolades for the Philippine most hated junior congressman? Well just read the news article printed in the Sunstar quoted in toto below:

Ang Galing Pinoy party-list Representative Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo on Tuesday vowed to look into the case of the security guard allegedly mauled at the UP-Ayala Technohub in Quezon City last week.

“My office is always open to anyone who wants my help,” he said in a text message.

According to security guard Ricardo Bonayog, Lanao del Sur Representative Mohammed Hussein Pangandaman allegedly punched him for unspecified reasons causing him to fall on the ground in the presence of some witnesses.

Pangandaman had denied the accusation and said he intends to file a harassment case against the security guard.

Arroyo’s party-list group represents security guards and tricycle drivers in the House of Representatives. Arroyo is currently in Cebu to look into the bank robbery incident where three robbers and two security guards were killed. The robbery occurred at 9:30 a.m. inside Robinson’s Place, which only last April was hit by a fire and reopened last July.”

Living up to expectations. Mikey has become the protector of security guards.

Mikey has instantly become the protector of the lowly security guard and has proven his critics wrong that he is solely in Congress to protect his parents and their family interests. By taking the cudgels for the lowly security guard Ricardo Bonayog, he has taken his representation of the thousands of security guards very seriously…and undeniably admirably.

The eldest son of the beleaguered former President, Mike should strike the iron when it is hot. He can generate a good political PR with this exposure. At least he can very well say that during his heyday as the first son and congressman, he did not manhandled any lowly security.

Nasandal kami sa pader. A lowly Filipino security guard usually earns less than 10,000 pesos a month.

Maybe it is his Atenean Jesuit education that prevented him from going down to the despicable level of other spoiled politician brats. Mikey having studied college at the Jesuit run Ateneo de Manila University and at its law school (albeit only for one semester).

The incident allegedly involving neophyte Congressman Mohammed (the prophet’s name!) Hussein (Saddam?) Pangandaman only proves that Mikey – notwithstanding tons of accusations of abuse against him – has never been abusive as to beat a lowly security guard. It also proves that Mikey’s “Wang-wang” is a mere mosquito bite compared to Congressman Pangandaman’s alleged Porsche (with “8″ plate) arrogance.

With all the congressmen and politicians fast in washing their hands and saying “we do not want to do anything about the alleged mauling incident,” Mikey is fighting for lowly security guard.

Mikey should pursue this case and bring up the necessary charges at the congressional ethics committee. He should disregard party lines by soliciting the help of youthful yet seemingly well-behaved congressmen like Erin Tanada (who has offered to help) to bring the case of the security guard to justice.

Then maybe it is step one towards redemption for Congressman Mikey and his family.

A Lowly “Jaguar”. But whom the President calls his “Boss.”

ABS-CBN News reports Congressman allegedly mauling a Security Guard:

A first-term lawmaker from Lanao del Sur has found himself in the middle of a tempest over allegations of mauling a security guard in a commercial car park in Quezon City.

Mohammed Hussein Pangandaman faced the House media Monday afternoon after queries about a newspaper article alleging that a congressman driving a luxury car refused to be inspected by security last Wednesday when he was about to park.

A check with the Quezon City Police District Detachment 9 in Anonas, Quezon City showed the following blotter report:

“Aug 31 935pm: This time and date SG Ricardo Bonayog y Gate 33 years old SG of Eagle Watch posted at Ayala Technohub UP Campus Diliman Quezon City appeared personally before this stn and requested to be placed on records to wit. That at 430pm aug 31 2011 whie he was performing his duty one Porsche Carrera colored silver was with plate number 8 appeared with the company of one Innova Red pn PCI 150 allegedly on said TDPO the occupant of the Porsche Carrera approached him and with reasons of his own got irked then boxed him several times causing him to fell on the ground in the presence of some witness.”

The blotter did not name the congressman.

Philippine Daily Inquirer reported it differently: Guard started it, says solon!

Pangandaman himself denied before reporters on Monday a news item that said he punched a security guard twice in the head for refusing to exempt his Porsche Carrera with a number 8 license plate from the usual security check in the parking lot of the commercial strip along Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City.

Pangandaman’s security escorts then reportedly disarmed the security guard, who has remained unidentified, while the lawmaker proceeded to his meeting in the area.

“I have no written statement because I want to speak from the heart and tell the truth. I felt bad about this news. I don’t know how they could fabricate this kind of story and malign my name,” Pangandaman said.

He said he was at the Technohub with three members of his staff and a police detail.

He admitted driving his Porsche but said the security guard was the first one to act rudely. “He said ‘P*tsa, ocho (s*it, an 8)’ when the attendant asked him for my car’s license number.”

He said that he talked to the guard in “a gentle and civilized” manner.

Pangandaman said he was surprised the security guard followed him to the parking slot where they again argued about his license plate which he said was a “protocol” plate.

Then the discussion got heated, he said. He said it was the security guard who attempted to draw his gun and that he quickly held onto the guard’s gun before he could take it out of its holster, while he used his other hand to hit the guard in the head with some papers he was holding.

He said that his police detail then intervened and disarmed the guard.

Wangwang Pnoy. Can he go against his kind – meaning members of political clans?

Now, will the President act on this latest display of abuse which in every angle belittled his campaign against the “Wang-Wang” minded (supposedly) public servants??? He should put beef to his words by making an example out of this youthful but allegedly abusive congressman who would take it upon a lowly security guard (why don’t he at least pick on a Presidential Security Guard member and find out what he is looking for).

Prove your worth, protect your people. Ang Galing Party List Congressman Mikey Arroyo

Congressman Mikey Arroyo who is supposedly taking the cudgels for security guards as party list representative for the Ang Galing party-list group should be up in arms and file the disciplinary case against Pangandaman. Bakit takot ka ba Mikey? This is the best time you put like up to your responsibility as the “voice of the the simpleng security guard.” At least, people will see that you are not there in Congress just to protect your parents from being charged for plunder.

If these two politicians – Noynoy and Mikey will not do anything about what this “Ampatuan” of a neophyte congressman has allegedly did to a lowly Filipino breadwinner, can the rest of the country continue to believe in their sincerity?

Why do we allow Gays to dominate Philippine Cinema?

The state of Philippine cinema today is one biggest proof that Filipinos can never be called anti-gay or homophobic.

Just look at the pillars of Philippine entertainment industry or better yet the entire length of the totem pole – from serfs at the bottom like extras, stuntmen and caterers; middle dwellers like the spitfire showbiz scribes, make-up artists, talent scouts and personal assistants (PAs); up to the zenith – movie producers, network honchos and award winning actors and actresses – are teeming with gays. They are lording it over.

Nobody can deny that gays are ruling, dominating – and shaping Philippine cinema as you read this blog.

And why are we letting them do this?

Is it because they are the most determined individuals who patiently wait in line for their claim to fame and fortune? Look at former extras and bit players like Vice Ganda, Ate Gay, Arnel Ignacio and Allan K who have all gone through unthinkable hardship just to achieve their present success (Maybe the hunk of a gay Michelle Van Damme is the only showbiz gay who was not able to get his 5 minutes of fame).

Is it because gays are more articulate than straight men? Is that why Boy Abunda despite his irritating inquiries and O-A conversations (pretend that I am a mirror…) lords over the world of showbiz gossip and talk. So does other gay gossip show hosts Nap Gutierrez, Alfie Lorenzo, Joebert Sucaldito and Shalalah?

Maybe because gays who were once the best literary teachers in the country are the only persons having the talent to conceptualize award winning movie plots or finish a blockbuster script. Why is it only gays screenwriters can unlock the secret of scriptwriting and not straight men?

Many are also wondering why movie stars keep on saying “Direk” when it should “Direktress” as there are lots of gays at the helm of movie producing. (I dare anybody to name at least five straight Filipino directors – Good luck on that!. Say the director’s name, chances are he or she is gay.

The question in the alternative: Why is there is no straight showbiz personality who is able influence Philippine showbiz in the recent years (except maybe for Raymond Red?). It seems all the movie awards went to the gays or gay-themed movies.

This trend of permeating Philippine cinema with gay-themed movies is alarming. It presents the gay perspective. Heterosexual view of reality might be a figment of imagination. Filipinos should also be treated to good movies with straight man’s perspective. Not necessarily the vulgar and r-rated chop-chop junk but honest to goodness movies about heroism, Philippine history or its magnificent scenery (one which moved Francis Ford Coppola to shoot Apocalyse Now here) -that can inspired the youth and properly set their perspective. The last bonafide inspiring straight film that was shown in recent history is maybe “Rizal” by a straight female director Marilou Diaz-Abaya.

The threat of gay monopoly in Philippine cinema and concerning predominance of gay perspective should serve as a warning sign for straight movie producers and directors to challenge the same. Movie producers like Vic del Rosario who is undoubtedly straight, macho actors now- politicians Lito “Ben Tumbling” Lapid, and Ramon “Bong-Panday” Revilla should fight back and restore heterosexual perspective on its rightful place in Philippine cinema.

Years from now if this trend goes unchecked, Philippines may be known as the number one gay movie producer just as how India is known to produce sing and dance Bollywood movies. Philippines will then be a Hollywood for gays..Heaven forbid!
